Vermont History Day is coordinated by the Vermont Historical Society

As of fall 2021, we are planning for an in-person contest on Saturday, April 2nd, 2022 at the UVM Davis Center. We will reassess in January and make adjustments to the plans as needed.

Student Registration Deadline for all participants: Tuesday, March 8, 2022 
(Required information: Student name, grade, school/homeschool, project title, project category. For group projects, all group members must register.) Student registration fee is $8.00.

Student Project Submission Deadline for Websites, Papers and Documentaries: Tuesday, March 22, 2022 (Students must submit website URL or digital versions of papers and documentaries. Judges will review these projects before the contest day. For an in-person contest, performances and exhibits are due on the contest day.) Project Submission Instructions

Information for Students

 

Thank you for participating in Vermont History Day! You can use this system to register for the state contest.

For information about the state, contest click on the General tab. 

To begin registration, use the Create Account option (at the top left) and select the student option. Or use the Create Account option to the right and create a student account.

You will need an email address to create an account. 

Keep your username and password in a safe place so you can access the system easily. You will need this information again.

Use the Login option (top right) to access the system after you have registered.

You can make corrections or additions to your information, change your title, nominate your project for special prizes, pay the registration fee, and connect your project to your teacher or to teammates until the registration deadline. You can upload your entry materials (project and process paper/bibliography) and add the link to your shared project (documentary) until the submission deadline. Project Submission Instructions

Information for Teachers

 

Thank you for participating in Vermont History Day! You can use this site to register for the state contest and to check on your students' registrations.

For information about the state contest, click on the General tab. 

To begin registration, use the Create Account option (at the top left) and select the teacher option. Or use the Create Account option to the right and create a teacher account. It is helpful for you to register before your students so they can select you as their teacher.

Keep your username and password in a safe place so you can access the system easily. Use the Login option (top right) to access the system after you have registered.

You can view your students' registration information under My Students. You can check on registration status, make corrections or additions to their information, and pay student registration fees until the registration deadline. 

Students can select up to 3 teachers as part of the registration process.

Please let us know if the school will be paying the student registration fee so we can remove that question from the student registration page.

Information for Judges

 

Thank you for your interest in being a judge at Vermont History Day!

We will be using this system for some of the judging process. Please log in using the username and password that you made (or we sent). Let us know if you need a reminder or a reset.

After you log in, select Judging (from the top menu bar) and then Judge Portal. This will open a new page where you can see contact information for your team members and access your projects and evaluations forms. 

For each project, you will see information similar to this documentary:

Click the blue google drive link to view the project or the "View" link to see the written materials. You can also select View & Evaluate to open another page with links to the project and the online evalation form for this entry.

Please view the projects before April 2. And let us know if you have any questions or difficulty accessing the materials.

We will supply additional information about contest deadlines and judging information at a later date.
